What is a fiber crawl?

A fiber crawl is modeled after many successful crawls that offer fiber enthusiasts the opportunity to visit independent yarn stores, artists’ studios, fiber centers, farms and museums to feel, touch and get inspired by beautiful, unique fiber products. During the event at each location you will be able to meet artists, practice a hands-on skill and learn about the rich Fiber Arts tradition of New Mexico.

How can I participate?

Pick up a passport at a participating site, or download it here. Keep that passport with you when you visit each site. Have them place their sticker in your passport.

EVERYONE.

What is a passport?

A passport is a mini-booklet filled with information on participating sites, their location and opening hours. Present it at each site to be labeled. If you visit 5, 10 or 15 sites you will be eligible for additional prizes. Show your stamped passport at the respective site and the manager will verify and submit your frequency ticket to the Grand Prize Raffle. Visit How to Crawl for more information.

Do I have to buy something to participate in the site raffle?

No purchase is required. Most sites will give you a raffle ticket for a raffle offered by that site.

Winners will be notified directly by the site and names will be posted on the New Mexico Fiber Crawl website and the EVFAC Facebook page.

You do not have to be present to win a prize. Only out of state winners will be mailed their prize, all other winners are expected to pick up their prize at the respective site.

How will I know if I have won a site or Grand Prize raffle prize?

Each site will contact the winner of the site raffle prize directly. The names of winners will also be posted on the New Mexico Fiber Crawl website and EVFAC Facebook page. Your participation in the raffle is your permission to post your name on-line.

Do I have to buy something to participate in the Grand Prize raffle?

No. To get a ticket for the Grand Prize raffle, you will have to qualify for each of the categories listed on the How to Crawl page.

You do not have to be present to win. All winners will be announced no later than 1st June 2017. Winners will be phoned and e-mailed and their names will be posted on the New Mexico Fiber Crawl website and the EVFAC Facebook page.

Only out of state winners will be mailed their prize, all others will have to pick up their prize at a designated site.

What are sites?

A site is a place you can visit on the New Mexico Fiber Crawl, they can be independent yarn store, artists’ studios, fiber center, farm or museum. Sites offer a program of events which are listed under Events. Check each day since the events and participants may vary each day.

What are hubs?

Hubs are larger sites that offer an extensive program and engage a larger number of vendors. Hubs offer larger parking opportunities allowing visitors to catch a bus to other locations.

What happens on Friday afternoon?

Each hub will organize a kick-off party on Friday afternoon that will take place between 5pm - 8pm. Light snacks and drinks will be offered allowing artists to mingle and get to know each other. During the party you will be able to pick up your passport and have it stamped, however bus services will not be offered on Friday.
