The Española Valley Fiber Arts Center is dedicated to growing the appreciation of the Fiber Arts, building the community through collaborative efforts and fostering economic sustainability.
Nestled in the heart of the Española Valley in northern New Mexico, the Española Valley Fiber Arts Center (EVFAC) was established in 1995 by a small group of local artists/weavers, who had a passion for creating fiber-based textiles. These artists saw unused looms sitting outside homes in the valley and came to realize that the art of weaving, primarily passed on to next generations through the elder family weavers, was no longer being taught. They formed a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Member-focused organization, which became a teaching center with an emphasis on nurturing the rich fiber heritage of Northern New Mexico. Since then, the Center has grown in size and benefits offered to its Membership, in the number of programs and classes it offers, in physical teaching and studio space, and in the size of its retail operations.
EVFAC is a unique resource for fiber artists and those who find beauty in the fiber arts. Come visit us! Whether you are passing through or live in the area, make sure you stop by our adobe storefront in the historic district of Española, New Mexico and you will enter a world of looms, colorful yarns, beautiful handmade textiles, books, and supplies.
