Lovingly restored and overlooking beautiful Old Town Plaza Park, the Ilfeld Ballroom will be filled with native New Mexican weaver's rugs offered at auction on May 18, and a once in a life time opportunity to view the famous Hubbell Navajo rug completed in the late 1930s by the Joe Family. The largest weaving in the world will be on loan for exhibition from the Winslow Art Trust. On Friday (5/17), a rug auction preview will run from noon until 8pm. On Saturday (5/18), the preview will resume at 10am with the auction starting at 1pm. The "SpiderRock girls" - 8 weavers of three generations, and in one case, four generations - will be in attendance. The most recognizable names of the individual weavers are Emily Malone, LaVera (Malone) Ambrose, Larissa Blake, Laramie Blake, Cara Whitney, and Harriet (Whitney) Evans.
